Yet another win in the pick'em challenges!

While not as good as my standings in last years Inetium NFL pick'em challenge; I did manage to pull off a second place win in the Inetium NCAA pick'em challenge!

Not too bad for someone who doesn't know a single player on any of the college basket teams, and even worse, who doesn't even know who won the tournament... that is assuming it's over (I don't even know when the thing ends).

It's very easy to do WELL in an NCAA bracket, but it's very, VERY difficult to WIN one.  To do well, one needs only to pick the higher seed, a la Mr. Vogt here.  To win, one must have a wide breadth of knowledge of college basketball, and then analyze that knowledge correctly.  Hence Steve picking 3 out of the 4 Final Four contestants correctly and Mr. Vogt here guessing a grand total of... zero.  Though this blog owner did beat me, you'll be happy to know I went out on a limb on many occasion and guessed right about a lot of things, including:

1) West Virginia would ride Kevin Pittsnogle all the way to the Sweet 16.  I predicted they'd beat Texas.  But alas, they lost on a buzzer beater...
2) Gonzaga would go very far.  I predicted them to come out of their bracket.  Only a monumental collapse and a nervous breakdown by Adam Morrison WHILE THE GAME WAS STILL GOING prevented that.
3) Villanova and Memphis are overrated.  You can't go very far with a 4-guard set...

Also, without any help from Google, UCLA.edu, etc. here are tonight's starting lineups:

UCLA:
Cedric Bozeman
Luc Richard Mbah A Moute
Ryan Hollins
Jordan Farmar
Aaron Afflalo

Florida:
Joakim Noah
Corey Brewer
Al Horford
Taureen Green
Lee Humphrey

I mentioned 12 college basketball players in this comment.  Justin knows of none of them.  Bet you he can't even tell you one Golden Gopher.  I can tell you the starting five of both the men's and women's teams...
