At TechEd this week Microsoft unveiled its vision for "last mile" applications to bring line of business data into the Office system. They launched a whole new suite of acronyms including OBA, LOBi, OBE.
-
Office Business Applications (OBA) - term given to applications built to surface line of business data in Office clients.
-
LOBi for Office SharePoint Server - this appears to be the next version of the Information Bridge Framework.
-
Office Business Entity - sounds like the same entities from IBF with a new, fancy name.
Microsoft also unveiled a new site: Office Business Applications Developer Portal
I don't know about you, but I can't wait to start showing my OBEs in MOSS using LOBi and the BDC...
